KIDS should be given a “summer of play” to help them recover from being in lockdown for months, rather than an extended school term or longer days, experts say.
Psychologists reckon spending time outdoors being physically active and having fun with friends will benefit their mental health far more than extra classes.
A group of academics called Playfirstuk have written to Education Secretary Gavin Williamson, saying: “Children need time and space to recover from the stress that the past year has placed on them.”
