Kelechi living it up at Foxes

- ■ by DAVE ARMITAGE

KELECHI IHEANACHO feels so content at Leicester he never wants to leave work.

His two goals against Manchester United on Sunday made it five in two matches after his hat-trick in the 5-0 defeat of Sheffield United.

He helped booked his side a place in the FA Cup semi-finals – and could meet former club Manchester City in the final.

The striker’s hot run coincides with Leicester moving into their new £100m training complex, which boasts its own nine-hole golf course.

And he loves every moment of being there.

Iheanacho said: “The facility is amazing. Everything there is fantastic. Sometimes I don’t want to leave the training ground.

“I spend time relaxing in the Players’ Lounge – it’s like someone’s house!

“It’s a place where everyone can enjoy work and spend time together.

“The owners have given us everything, so now it’s up to us to do the job on the pitch.”

They are doing that, for sure – sitting third in the Premier League with a Champions League place their target.

Iheanacho, 24, could be forgiven for thinking an FA Cup Final date with City is written in the stars after earning a semi-final clash with Southampton next month.

Iheanacho’s stunning double in the 3-1 victory over United went down a storm in the blue half of Manchester where he launched his Premier League career.

The Nigeria international believes the Foxes have what it takes to smash the club’s 136-year hoodoo by winning the FA Cup after four final defeats.

He scored 21 goals in 64 games for City but struggled to make his big breakthrough with established stars like Sergio Aguero around.

Leicester forked out £25m to sign him in 2017 but he has had to be patient, waiting behind goal machine Jamie Vardy.

Iheanacho told Leicester’s Matchday Magazine: “The FA Cup is a huge competition and I would love to be able to play in an FA Cup Final.

“As a team we’re in the right frame of mind to make that happen.

“We have great players, a lot of quality, a good mentality and togetherness.”
