DEADLY melanomas are set to soar in the next two decades.

The skin blemishes will become the second most common type of cancer by 2040, according to a new US study.

Report author Dr Lola Rahib said: “These estimates emphasise the importance of cancer screening.”

A similar trend has been spotted in Britain.
