BONNIE Tyler’s trademark husky voice stems from her disobeying her doctor’s orders to stop talking.
The Total Eclipse Of The Heart singer was forced to undergo vocal cord surgery at 17 and was told by her surgeon to “shut up” for a few months.
But the self-professed “chatterbox” ignored advice, damaging her voice.
The 69-year-old star said: “My voice was a lot sweeter in them days than it is now. I just couldn’t do as I was told and shut up.
“So, in the end, the surgeon said to me, ‘you’ve really gone and done it.
“You’re always going to be husky now.’”
