GARDENER Eloise Mercer is dwarfed by a massive rhododendron dubbed “shrubzilla” in full bloom.
The 120-year-old plant is now so large a double decker bus could fit inside it. Blooming with pink and red flowers, the bush is in the grounds of South Lodge Hotel in Horsham, West Sussex.
Head gardener Paul Collins, 51, said: “It’s definitely better than last year. Who knows why – it’s nature isn’t it!”
