POCH BOYS IN FOR THE KYL

BAYERN MUNICH PSG

- By TONY BANKS

KYLIAN MBAPPE had already put Barcelona to the sword in the Champions League this season – and last night he felled Bayern Munich.

In an enthralling quarterfinal in snowy Munich, Mauricio Pochettino’s PSG shot into a two-goal lead before being pegged back.

Mbappe (inset) then fired in the winner to give them a precious first-leg lead. PSG had an escape in the first minute, as Eric Maxim Choupomoting hit the bar with a header – but Pochettino’s side struck back instantly.

Neymar fed Mbappe and his shot somehow squirmed between Manuel Neuer’s legs and into the Bayern net.

The Germans were caught out again as Neymar swung the ball in for the unmarked Marquinhos to slot home.

Bayern clawed their way back as Choupo-moting powered home a header.

And their pressure paid off as Thomas Muller glanced in another header to equalise.

But PSG’S pace on the break always gave them a chance and when Mbappe jinked inside, his low shot left Neuer helpless.
