‘Talk to big boss Fergie’

-

years ago, claimed “trophies are for egos” for some managers and building long-term foundations for success is more important to him.

But tomorrow’s opponent Mourinho, who won two major trophies in less than three years in charge at United, insisted Ferguson “has a different view” to Solskjaer.

Mourinho said: “It’s his opinion. I’m pretty sure his big boss Sir Alex had a different opinion about it. But I respect what Solskjaer thinks. I think different.

“But I believe his big boss, and the biggest in Premier League history, has a different view to that.”

Meanwhile in a tit-for-tat dig, Solskjaer has warned his Manchester United stars not to get conned by Mourinho’s Tottenham in tomorrow’s grudge match.

Solskjaer admits United will be fired up to avenge the 6-1 humiliation at the hands of Spurs in October.

United finished the game at Old Trafford with 10 men after Anthony Martial saw red following a clash with Erik Lamela.

Solskjaer’s side went to pieces to suffer their joint worst defeat in Premier League history.

The United boss wants revenge but has told his players to keep their cool this time – and not let Mourinho’s men wind them up.

He wants United to be more disciplined and said: “We got conned into a red card. We gave ourselves a difficult game by having ten men.

“And that is something we have to be aware of, that we can’t react like this because we know in games like this we will be wound up.”
