MOD ad for eco warrior

THE Ministry of Defence wants to hire a £93,000-a-year eco warrior to make sure it burns less fuel.

Activities such as deploying combat planes, warships and tanks, and the use of overseas military bases are highly energy intensive and dependent on fossil fuels.

But the Government is creating a climate change and sustainability director post to tackle the problem, after its carbon emissions vow for 2050.

An advert for the post says that the MOD knows it has “a vital role to play in supporting the Government’s efforts to deliver Net Zero 50.”
