Posers snap-up carriers
POSING shoppers are blowing cash on empty designer bags and packaging.
They are desperate to show off labels including Tiffany, Rolex, Prada, Louis Vuitton and Chanel.
Then they pretend they are as minted as shopaholic stars, such as reality TV’S Kylie Jenner, by strutting the streets or posting on social media.
A pile of 17 black Chanel paper bags recently sold online for £265, while a single 22cm-wide Louis Vuitton paper bag was bought for £32.
Salman Haqqi, of Money.co.uk, said: “They may have seen wardrobes filled with Chanel bags and Louis Vuitton boxes on show on Pinterest. Or it could be to use for Instagram posts.”
A study by the website showed Rolex watch boxes are the most expensive designer packaging at about £160. Tiffany boxes tied with white ribbons are £51.
Six of the 10 top items of beauty packaging were for perfumes, with Yves Saint Laurent’s empty vintage bottles at £47. The Star Says:
