Bossy partner so lazy

-

MY bloke has given up work and declared himself to be a full-time dad.

I was not consulted and the kids still come to me for everything.

I’ve worked from home for years bringing in the bulk of our money.

Now he complains when he catches me talking on the phone to my mum. He accuses me of slacking if he sees me checking out the news online during my lunchbreak.

He’s now come up with a plan for how I could work more efficiently/harder and achieve/earn more.

How dare he? He sulks if I ask him what he does all day.

JANE SAYS: I suspect there is more to this situation than meets the eye. Did your guy give up his job or was he let go? Has his confidence been hit?

Clearly you run your home like a well-oiled machine.

He can’t simply swan in and start telling you how to operate.

If he’s bored and in need of a role, then insist on sitting down together. If he’s lost his way, then fathom out how he can retrain and get back into the workplace.

Meanwhile, why isn’t he caring for the kids?
