Far too many firms milked furlough pot

-

At last! Thanks Chancellor Rishi for stopping Furlough support from 1st July. I have every support and sympathy for those generally that have needed it or would become desperate without it. But, for those that have claimed it not needed it or not entitled to it and those that have exploited it, I say they should be hounded until it’s repaid. Maybe those that got nothing and lost their jobs and businesses could have been supported if the scrounges had not milked the pot away. BIG J

It was predictable that the restrictions would go on further, they will keep going on and on, these people don’t like relinquishing power they will keep finding variants and keep us all in a state of compliance by boosting the fear factor. The government has created a monster by giving Sage as much power as they have, science should be on tap not on top. John challenger wots the difference between a jellyfish and our so called leader boris? none they r both spineless but the jellyfish has more brains. Yet again he has been led by the nose by the so called experts who r only good at guessing numbers of doom. Get rid of them now and learn to live with it like the flu.

I do wonder whether the sage scientists are enjoying the continuing lockdown a little too much. tim pittway so millions of us vaccinated, deaths right down and we’re still being restricted ppl are getting p*ssed off with it 1000s die every year from normal flu yet we weren’t locked up for that – give us our freedom. stig2 so now in August we wait for freedom until another variant then the date again will be changed again and again and again until we are permently in lockdown or is it prison ?????? ethell

We have track & trace in pubs, libraries, restaurants and other places, yet those working in hospitality waiters, bar staff, chefs and so on, no checks, so the general public have to give names & contact details and temp. taken on entry, yet the person serving them – nothing. Mr. C.

Re question 5 in Tuesday’s Brainbox. Technically it’s a fact that only Bassenthwaite is a lake. All the others are Mere’s, Waters, or Tarns. P Dantic. Well that’s a case of nominative determinism, isn’t it! Brainbox Ed
