JUBILANT England supporters were in dream land last night after the Three Lions dumped Germany out of Euro 2020.

Fans were waking up with sore heads this morning after supping more than seven million pints in an all-night party.

Goals by Raheem Sterling and Harry Kane settled the last-16 tie at Wembley and sparked wild celebrations.

Their strikes had 43,000 fans in the stadium – including the Duke of Cambridge, Ed Sheeran and David Beckham – punching the air with delight.

Yesterday marked the first time England had knocked the Germans out of a major tournament since the 1966 World Cup final – and ended a run of four successive defeats in big contests.

Many bookmakers last night made Gareth Southgate’s men favourites to win the Euros, which would be England’s first trophy in 55 years.

The final whistle sparked tears of joy inside Wembley and triggered a nationwide frenzy inside pubs, beer gardens and living rooms.

More than a million homeworkers sneaked off to the pub to watch the game as fans piled into boozers from 7am.

Trucker Dave Shaw, 40, of Slough, Berks, said: “I’ve never seen England in a football final in my life and I finally think it could happen. I’d never seen us beat Germany in a major tournament – until now.”

Charlotte Dale, 29, a teacher from Nottingham, said: “I honestly never thought I’d see England football team win anything. Now I can actually see how it could happen. It’s so exciting.’’

And Piers Morgan tweeted: “My God ... it really might be coming home.”
