‘Failure’ of Rita’s NHS gig
A POP concert organised to boost NHS funds featuring Rita Ora lost £360,000.
The one-day festival, set up by D-hive for the trust that runs Derby hospital, was axed over poor ticket sales.
Trade union Unite is calling for an independent inquiry into the loss.
A spokesman said: “The loss of £360,000 is a considerable amount however you measure it and is a sum that the cash-strapped NHS can ill-afford to lose.”
Simon Crowther, finance chief at the hospital trust, insisted the trust “did not incur any costs from the cancellation of this concert”.
