‘£2M’ FOR GUN THAT KILLED KID
THE gun that killed Billy the Kid 140 years ago is set to fetch more than £2million at auction.
The Wild West outlaw is reputed to have gunned down at least 27 men.
He was killed in 1881 aged 21 by sheriff Pat Garrett, as retold in the Young Gun movies.
Now, the Colt single action army revolver used to shoot Kid is going on sale in Los Angeles.
The firearm is the iconic artefact of 265 lots up for auction next month.
Catherine Williamson, Bonhams director of books and manuscripts, said: “The Earle collection is truly one of the most remarkable and unparalleled private collections of Western material.”
