NEARLY half of young drivers say their car finance bills are as much, or more, than their housing expenses.

And men (33%) are nearly twice as likely as women (18%) to be in this situation – although most drivers (56%) do not worry about the total car finance costs.

Ben Wooltorton, from Insurethegap.com, which carried out the poll, said: “Buying a car using finance is the only option for many young people.”
