Driver’s red card

A DRIVER caught playing online poker on the M6 was one of 600 motoring offences recorded by police operating in unmarked HGV “supercabs”.

Officers discovered 92 drivers using their mobile phones illegally, including one Facetiming his partner, and 138 risking their lives without wearing a seatbelt.

Highways England’s Jeremy Phillips said: “Our aim was to make all of our roads safer by raising awareness.”
