My girl is feeding me way too much

HUFFS IF I REJECT ‘EXTRAS’

-

MY girlfriend really is a fantastic cook. But she’s also a feeder.

Her food is amazing, she could easily open her own restaurant or deli.

The problem is that I’ve put on 3st since we met. She gets very hurt and personally offended if I dare to turn down a single morsel. She huffs that she’s worked all day to please me.

I have a very sweet tooth, which she indulges.

She openly admits that she shows love through food – and this extends to the bedroom, too.

Rude food plays a huge part in our love making.

She regularly glides in with a tray of treats that she’s lovingly prepared. I’m fed slippery oysters for protein and healthy sperm. She drips honey and strawberries on her chest before squirting fresh cream on top for a “human trifle”.

Nothing is left to the imagination – I can’t begin to tell you what she does with cool cucumbers and hot chillies.

Let’s just say that we’re very open minded people.

But eating vast amounts of calories is definitely taking its toll on my waistline and my friends and family have started making comments about my “fuller figure”. She gets upset when I turn

down seconds and thirds. She accuses me of going soft on her. She’s right; I have gone soft – all over my back side, love handles and belly.

How do we achieve harmony and balance?

How do I reassure her of my love and appreciation without her taking offence?

JANE SAYS: You’re absolutely right to talk about balance.

It’s wonderful that your girlfriend is so passionate about food – and you – but she’s in danger of killing you with kindness.

Level with her today

because your health is vitally important. Can you reach a compromise regarding the frequency of her big meals and the fat and calorific content of her puddings?

Why don’t you take over the kitchen a couple of days a week and treat her to crisp salads and more balanced dishes for a change?

Of course you’re grateful to her but you’re entitled to your say – and the food you want – too.

If she loves and respects you then she’ll see and understand where you’re coming from. Ultimately she

sounds like a person with a lot of time and enthusiasm on her side.

Might she think about using her skills in a professional capacity?

Could she cook for elderly family members or needy neighbours?

Might a local charity be able to use her skills?

In the meantime, get active. Start walking, join a local gym or swim – and start to get some of that excess weight off you.

Getting fit could be something that you start enjoying together.
