Red card for cops

LAST time we checked our cops were there to arrest scumbag criminals.

And county lines drugs gangs to most would seem the very definition of evil on our streets.

Yet some bird-brained police chiefs in Cheshire have decided to make a mockery of the fight against this scourge.

They are introducing a football-style “yellow card” system warning these sinister individuals not to do it again if they’re caught crossing county lines. What a joke.

Not only is this an absurd gimmick that takes away from the seriousness of the situation.

It’s also a complete insult to victims. If these people are linked to crime then they should just be arrested and have the book thrown at them.

Pussy-footing around illegal behaviour has never worked before.

So why the hell would it work with a bunch of unscrupulous drug dealers?

It’s time to start using the full force of the law – not offering these wicked villains second chances.
