SPACE LIGHT SHOW
EERIE green lights shimmer over the Earth’s surface as the aurora borealis is viewed from space.
Flight engineer Thomas Pesquet, a French astronaut, captured the Northern Lights from the International Space Station.
He said: “These last few days have been aurora spectacular. This amazing light show occurs when particles from the Sun hit Earth’s magnetosphere.
“We were very lucky to see such outbursts. I think it is the most amazing thing I have ever seen that nature can give us.”
