IPHONE users have been urged to download a crucial update to prevent the spread of a virus.

Hacking software called Pegasus was created by Israeli company NSO Group to track criminals and terrorists.

But it has also been used to target phones belonging to activists and politicians.

Apple fans should make they are using IOS 14.8, ipad OS 14.8, watchos 7.6.2, macos Big Sur 11.6, and security update 2021005 for macos Catalina.

The NSO Group said it would “continue to provide intelligence and law enforcement agencies around the world with lifesaving technologies to fight terror and crime”.
