Jo tribute to uncle

JOANNA MASON raced to a poignant double just hours after the death of her uncle yesterday.

Copper And Five (11-2) and 12-1 shot Pound Off You gave the apprentice an afternoon to treasure at Redcar.

Following the first leg in the racingtv.com Handicap, Mason, having her best season by far with 31 winners, paid a fond tribute to one of her biggest supporters

“He always followed my races and had £2.50 each-way,” she said.

Leader Major Snugfit looked in control but she had other ideas, creeping into contention on the stayer before snatching a neck supremacy.
