Swifty’s so nifty

READING PETERBORO

- By HECTOR NUNNS

JOHN SWIFT took his season’s goal tally to a magnificent seven with a superb free-kick to set injury-hit Reading on their way to victory.

The 26-year-old struck after 64 minutes and then saw loanee Tom Dele-bashiru weigh in with a double.

Those two late strikes came either side of a 74th-minute header from Nathan Thompson that had briefly threatened to create a tense finale.

Defeat leaves Posh deep in trouble at the foot of the table.

The home keeper

Luke Southwood, 23, was another Royals hero – called on for only a second league start for the club and making two fine saves.

Regular No.1 Rafael Cabral broke his hand punching a tactics board after the 3-3 draw with QPR.

Siriki Dembele’s curling 20-yard shot was well saved by Southwood and the youngster did even better with a flying save from Ollie Norburn.
