Pigs go nuts for acorns

HUNDREDS of pigs have been let loose in a national park to gobble up acorns.

The tradition sees them clear the New Forest, Hants, of the nuts – which can be fatal to the area’s famous ponies.

Local official Jonathan Gerelli said: “Animals like cattle and ponies get sick if they eat too many.”
