320 are Made jobless
FURNITURE business Made.com is axing 320 workers after going bust.
It said its brand, websites and intellectual property have been bought by fashion chain Next, following its insolvency.
Zelf Hussain, of administrators PwC, said: “It is with real regret redundancies will need to be made.”
The firm’s collapse left around 12,000 customers with outstanding orders.
One employee said they were given “a very impersonal speech” laying blame on market conditions.
They added: “I really worry for the customer service and warehouse staff. It’s heartbreaking.”
