£300K CARD WIN THANKS TO QUEUE

A WOMAN won a £300,000 Cosmic Lotto Scratchcard jackpot after seeing another punter bag £50,000.

Karen Parkin started buying the cards after seeing a woman in front of her in a newsagent queue celebrate her own good fortune.

A few months later Karen, 51, landed the top prize on a National Lottery Cosmic Cash Scratchcard.

She said: “I was in a newsagent’s and this lady was in front of me in the queue. She asked the assistant to check a Scratchcard. She’d actually won £50,000.

“From then on I started buying Scratchcards and now I too am a winner. I still can’t believe it. I normally get bad luck.” Karen said the winning buy came on a shopping trip for bread and milk.

She explained: “I bought two National Lottery Scratchcards then went home, put the kettle on and sat down with a coffee before watching The Chase.

“I scratched the first one and saw I’d won and just sat there.

“I can’t even remember if I scratched the second one. “It’s all a bit of a blur.”

Both winning Scratchards were bought from shops just a few miles apart in Nottingham.

Experts said the odds of winning a jackpot after seeing someone else do it were incalculable.
