House is full of pests..

THE House Of Commons’ canteen’s food hygiene rating has been downgraded from five-out-of-five to two – because Parliament is full of “pests”.

The building is battling an infestation of rats which is so serious staff have been advised not to store food in their offices.

Diners have reportedly been told the downgrade is due to “pests near catering venues”.

“The most recent inspection led to a new food hygiene rating of two stars, down from (the) previous rating of five,’’ they have been told.

“Environmental health officers identified the presence of pests near catering venues.

“This is a particular challenge in Parliament given the size of our catering operation.”

Catering staff promised “immediate action”.
