KFC has been forced to apologise for a promotional message urging German customers to commemorate Kristallnacht with cheesy chicken.
The fast food giant sent the message on the anniversary of the Nazi attacks against Jewish businesses that left more than 90 people dead in 1938.
In an app alert, the chain said: “It’s memorial day for Kristallnacht! Treat yourself with more tender cheese on your crispy chicken. Now at KFCheese!”
KFC sent another message an hour later with an apology, blaming “an error in our system”.
