THE troubled life of Whitney Houston is the subject of a new biopic.

The “I Will Always Love You” singer struggled with cocaine addiction, which contributed to her death by drowning in a bath in 2012.

She also had a turbulent relationship with her dad.

Music mogul Clive Davis said the movie, which has been approved by Whitney’s family, will not “whitewash” her woes.

Davis, who helped launch Whitney’s career, said: “Up till now nobody has touched the real person of Whitney... depending on their prejudices, it’s been her downfall. We are going to cover it.” Whitney’s dad, John, died in 2003 at the age of 82.

He had sued her over claims she didn’t pay his entertainment company for helping her secure a record deal.

It caused a major rift between them but the singer forgave him on his deathbed.

She said on The Oprah Winfrey Show in 2009: “I went to the hospital, and I said, ‘Let’s end this right now. You’re my father, and I love you, and I’m going to be here until the end.’”

The film, which stars British actress Naomi Ackie as Whitney, is being tipped to win several Oscar nominations.
