Hunt for alien planet ‘shock’
ASTRONOMERS will use a super-powered space telescope to search six planets for ET.
The James Webb space telescope has already beamed back the most detailed out-ofthis-world images ever seen.
Now experts plan to hunt for ET by zooming in on the six planets most like Earth.
Laura Kreidberg, from the Max Planck Institute for Astronomy, Germany, said: “I feel like we’re at the beginning of a really exciting journey.” She told New Scientist they are looking for rocky planets with atmospheres like Earth’s.
They believe as they go through all six, “we may be in for a very big surprise”.
