MAXIMUM BREAKOUT

147 politicians quit or fired

- ■ by MEG JORSH news@dailystar.co.uk

A RECORD 147 Government members have quit or been sacked so far this year – equal to nearly one every two days.

Mass resignations and wideranging reshuffles have led to the unprecedented wave of departures, shock figures reveal.

Labour’s deputy leader Angela Rayner said it was a “revolving door of Tory chaos”. Many leavers will have received payouts, including £18,860 for each PM and £16,876 per Cabinet minister.

Ministers of state get £7,920, with £5,593 for parliamentary under-secretaries. Some turn down the cash, like Sir Gavin “Thicko” Williamson, who was forced to quit over bullying claims, which he denies.

Dozens left over ex-PM Bozo Johnson, then Liz Truss had a reshuffle before failing to outlast the Daily Star’s lettuce.

PM Rishi Sunak also reshuffled, and there were 70 separate resignations or sackings.

WHAT a complete shambles.

Since the start of the year, 147 members of the Government have resigned or been sacked.

This works out at nearly one every two days.

No wonder we’re in such a mess. The country is crying out for proper governance. But instead, we get a revolving circus.

How can we ever expect to achieve stability when our leaders have the shelf life of a supermarket vegetable?

After all, former PM Liz Truss herself was outlasted by the Daily Star’s own lettuce.

You can’t expect to ever see sensible policies put in place if someone’s hardly got a foot in the door before they’re chucked out again.

The constant churning of ministers and their acolytes is also likely to have cost a fortune.

And yet again, we’re the ones picking up the tab. What a surprise.

It’s time the clowns stop coming and going at such a breakneck speed.
