A toast to white

PEOPLE are shunning trendy sourdough and avocado for traditional white bread and butter.

Some 40million slices of toast are eaten every day.

And nearly half of toast consumers say plain white is now their favourite.

Crumpets were next on 40%, according to a Recycle Your Electrical study.

Toast fans also confessed to odd toppings, such as Pot Noodle, Bovril and peanut butter, and even ice cream.
