Bro has horrible new girl

MY family and I agree that my brother’s new girlfriend is bad news.

She’s arrogant and rude. She frequently puts him down in public and, I suspect, bleeds him dry as she doesn’t work.

Recently, she and I rowed about her attitude. I called her out for being a bully and she was furious.

My brother insists that she’s the best thing that’s ever happened to him, but I don’t believe him.

I think he’s too scared to leave her because she’s such a nightmare.

How do we convince him that he could do so much better for himself?

JANE SAYS: Sadly, if your brother is infatuated, then he may not be able to see his girlfriend for the obnoxious person she is.

Try to get him on his own and make it clear you love him and only have his best interests at heart.

Encourage him to take a close look at the situation he is putting himself in with her.

Make the point that he doesn’t have to stay with this woman out of pride or fear. Then back off.

Don’t get into a situation where he feels he must choose between her and you.
