MARCO SILVA will be supporting Cristiano Ronaldo and his Portugal at the World Cup.

But tomorrow the Fulham coach and his holding midfielder Joao Palhinha must stop the Manchester United superstar and fellow countrymen Bruno Fernandes and Diogo Dalot.

“We have so many good players in the national team,” said Silva (inset).

“For Joao it will be his second big international competition and it will be a big moment for him. I think we can do well.”

Palhinha, who played at Euro 2020 before joining Fulham this summer, said: “I will do my best for sure, like I do here, to help my country to do good things.

“We want to do a good World

Cup and give a gift to our country.”
