Phoebe: Now for Indiana Fleabag

STAR MAY INHERIT ICONIC HERO ROLE

FLEABAG star Phoebe Waller-Bridge may end up as the new Indiana Jones.

The comedy actress and writer, above, will be introduced as Helena, goddaughter of the hero played by Harrison Ford, in the upcoming fifth film of the series.

But Hollywood sources have hinted that the 37-year-old Brit may take over the lead role played by the 80-year-old star.

Filmmakers for the flick, to be released next summer, have shot a series of possible endings.

One sees Ford’s character die and pass on his iconic bullwhip and battered fedora to Helena.

Promoting the film, Ford pointed at Waller-Bridge and said: “I’m very proud to say that this film is fantastic and this is one of the reasons.

“Indiana Jones movies are about mystery and adventure but they’re also about heart.

“And I’m really, really happy that we have a really human story to tell, as well as a movie that will kick your ass.”

The untitled film began shooting in June last year, and the set was temporarily shut down after Ford injured his arm.

A source close to filmmakers said: “The film is being shown to test audiences. No-one knows which ending they will use.”
