Qatar is banned by pubs
PUBS are refusing to show the World Cup because of Qatar’s anti-gay laws.
The Liverpool Arms and the Commercial Hotel & Bar, both in Chester, have boycotted the tournament. Two German pubs also refused to show games.
The Commercial said: “We will never support any country nor links with such prejudice and ideas.”
And the Liverpool Arms said: “We are deeply concerned about the host nation’s lack of LGBTQ+ rights.”
Meanwhile, singer Dua Lipa has rubbished claims she will perform at the opening ceremony.
And she vowed not to visit Qatar until it “fulfilled its human rights pledges”.
