Andy in shock at snub
ORDINARY Andy Windsor was left in shock by brother Charles’ refusal to allow him to return to royal duty.
King Charles III was clear Andrew would not be allowed to return to royal duties after he settled the sex assault case brought by Virginia Giuffre.
But Andy was left “utterly bereft” by the decision because his advisers told him they would find a way.
“Naive as it may sound, he always had hopes of regaining his position as a senior royal,” a source said.
“He was told, ‘You have to accept this’ – but sometimes people do not hear things.”
Andrew Lownie, who is writing a biography of the duke, said: “At the moment he is toxic.”
A spokeswoman for the Duke of York declined to comment.
