Henry a fool, not cool
FONZ star Henry Winkler admits he was a “damn fool” for turning down the lead in hit musical Grease.
Saturday Night Fever star John Travolta took the role of Danny Zuko – opposite Olivia Newton-John – turning him into a Hollywood legend.
Happy Days star Winkler, 77, was worried about taking another leather-jacketed 50s role as he was already playing Arthur “The Fonz” Fonzarelli.
He said: “I am a fool. I thought, ‘I’ve played the Fonz, I don’t want to do it again. It’s already happened. I’m already typecast.’”
FONZ actor Henry Winkler turned down the lead role in Grease because he didn’t want to be typecast as a guy in a leather jacket.
Wonder how that worked out for him!
