Barney bubbles
RAYMOND van Barneveld vowed to crack open the bubbly after qualifying for the Cazoo Grand Slam of Darts knockout stage with the “best performance” of his comeback.
Barney jumped for joy after beating world No.1 Gerwyn Price 5-4 in a thriller at Aldersley Sports Village.
The five-time world champ, 55, said: “If you start from scratch like I did two years ago, it means that much. Now it’s time to celebrate with some champagne.
“I’ve worked really hard but it never seems to happen. I’ve not managed to win four on the spin for a year.
“It’s is my best come -back performance. He gave it large, but was a good sport afterwards.”
