CASH UN THE UP
MATTY CASH reckons Unai Emery has already transformed Aston Villa in just two weeks.
Sunday’s 2-1 victory at Brighton made it two out of two in the Premier League for the Spaniard since arriving to replace Steven Gerrard.
Emery led Villa to a first home win over Manchester United in the league since 1995 the previous week in his first game in charge.
And any fears of being dragged into a relegation battle look remote for now with Villa heading into the World Cup break in 12th.
Right-back Cash said: “It’s a building block. In this league if you want to climb the table, you need to be really hard to beat.
“We need to keep doing that – putting in hard graft and let the forward players do the finishing.
“We’re delighted we’ve picked up three points going into the break.”
