My love-struck son’s changed

MY son was a nice boy before he met his girlfriend. Now he’s arrogant, rude and drunk.

I’m sick of them constantly romping in his bedroom. When I complain, he threatens to leave home.

He’s 20 and the apple of my eye. How do I drag him back and make him “normal” again?

JANE SAYS: Of course, you can ask him to be considerate and careful, but you can’t wrap him in cotton wool. He’s a young adult and these changes were always going to happen.

Drinking and bonking tend to be a rite of passage. Establish some house rules. If he feels it is time to leave home, you’ll have to let him go.
