DERBY COUNTY thrashed Torquay 5-0 to set up an FA Cup second-round tie against Newport County.

The Gulls were up against it as early as the seventh minute when defender Mark Ellis headed a Haydon Roberts cross into his own net.

And it was 2-0 to Paul Warne’s side in the 15th minute as Will Osula fired home from 18 yards.

Seven minutes before half-time Liam Thompson made it three with a left-footed shot from the centre of the box.

Lewis Dobbin added a fourth after the break with a shot from outside the box that crashed into the top corner before David McGoldrick made it five late on.

Gillingham beat AFC Fylde 1-0 and will now face Dagenham & Redbridge while AFC Wimbledon were 3-1 winners at home against Weymouth and they go on to meet Chesterfield in the second round.
