Dummy run to the Moon
★ NASA finally launches Artemis 1 to the Moon after years of delays.
The 100m-tall SLS rocket took off from the Kennedy Space Center at Cape Canaveral, Florida, yesterday.
★ The test flight is taking a spacecraft called Orion, carrying dummies rather than astronauts, into lunar orbit.
The project is years late and billions over budget, while the launch has cost a staggering £3.37billion.
★ Previous blast-off attempts in August and September were delayed because of technical glitches.
The US space agency hopes to send a manned flight to the
Moon next year.
