PETER Crouch’s dad was at all 720 of his professional games – and would be first in the ground each time to watch him warm up.

The former England striker, 41, said his father, Bruce, was “part of my superstition, bizarrely, if I didn’t see him before a game, I’d feel unnerved”.

Crouchy, who played for Liverpool and Tottenham, added: “He was with me every step of the way.”
