FLOOD PAINS FOR UK

★ FLOOD-plain farmland is covered in water as heavy rain causes pain and misery across the UK.

The fields in Haxted, Kent, were deluged after the River Eden burst its banks.

★ Drivers across much of England and Scotland were warned yesterday of flooding which affected roads, while the rain also brought chaos to train journeys. Meanwhile, a cyclist made her way through water covering the road at Tower Bridge in central London.

★ And also in Haxted, a truck looked stuck in deep water while a tractor travelled through flooding.
