SPEECH HELL OF KAMMY

- ■ by JOE FARETRA news@dailystar.co.uk

CHRIS Kamara hopes his documentary about speech loss will help other sufferers to “live a fulfilling life”.

The footie pundit, who has apraxia, believes Lost for Words will shine light on the little-known condition.

It is billed as an “uplifting” but warts-and-all programme for ITV1. Chris said: “This documentary is a very personal one for me.

“Hopefully by sharing my story it will raise awareness and help people who may also be living with this condition by showing that there are ways to manage it and still live a fulfilling life.”

In the documentary, to be shown next month, the broadcaster and former footballer seeks to discover a deeper insight into his recent diagnosis of apraxia of speech (AOS).

Ben Shephard, Kammy’s co-presenter on ITV show Ninja Warrior, added: “As a close friend and colleague of Kammy’s, I’ve seen firsthand the challenges that he’s been dealing with since his diagnosis.”

Kammy will give viewers unprecedented access into life with AOS, a speech condition in which a person has trouble pronouncing words correctly and consistently, and the battle to accept his diagnosis.
