(2013) Film4, 9pm In his first appearance as indestructible bodyguard Mike Banning, Gerard Butler single-handedly saves the free world by taking on the gang of North Korean terrorists who have broken into the White House and left Aaron Eckhart’s President hiding in the basement. The killings are gleefully preposterous and one-liners appropriately cheesy.

THE GIFT ★★★★ (2015) GREAT! movies, 11.10pm No bunnies are boiled but dog lovers and fish fans are in for a testing time with this oldfashioned stalker thriller. Jason Bateman has moved back to his old neighbourhood in LA when an old classmate with a long memory (Joel Edgerton) turns up at his door with a pressie.
