NHS call to work together
THE Government wants to improve health services by getting the NHS and social services to work closer together.
A review in England will look at reducing targets for health boards and making them more accountable for performance and spending.
It will be conducted by ex-health secretary Patricia Hewitt, chair of NHS Norfolk & Waveney Integrated Care Board.
Health and Social Care Secretary Steve Barclay said: “Rather than a one-size-fits-all approach dictated from a ministerial office, local leaders are best placed to make decisions about their local populations.”
