75,000 moans on cops
MORE than 75,000 complaints were made against police officers last year.
The number was up 11%, with some forces receiving almost 700 per 1,000 employees, the police watchdog found.
The most common complaints were about “the delivery of duties”.
Michael Lockwood, chief of The Independent Office for Police Conduct, said it showed the public were increasingly willing to voice concerns about the police.
Mr Lockwood said most cases were managed informally, with “appropriate explanations and apologies”.
