£1bn fan splurge

SPENDING by UK fans during the World Cup is expected to peak at a whopping £1.2billion.

But that is down by 17% (£413million) compared to the 2018 tournament.

The findings by VoucherCodes show that spending in shops will outstrip that in pubs.

Supporters will spend £121.8m on sportswear, £34.7m on souvenirs, and £227.3m on new TVs to enjoy the matches.
