Trucker lav cash panning
MINISTERS have “failed to deliver” a £32.5million scheme to improve toilet facilities for lorry drivers.
Trade union Unite said the budget is “entirely unspent” a year after the cash was allocated.
The union said that in an FOI request the Department for Transport admitted: “No companies have as yet received funding.”
General secretary Sharon Graham said: “The Government has been caught out in failing to deliver for lorry drivers. The budget is untouched.”
A DfT spokesman said: “We are working closely with operators on allocating the funding.”
